We are seeking a Network Engineer to support our voice (VoIP) and data network, and managed customer networks across North America. You will provision, operate, and improve our core IP and voice infrastructure, collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues, and deliver high-quality network services to customers and carriers.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on networking experience with a strong understanding of TCP/IP and IPv4
  • Knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and BGP peering policies
  • Experience with Ethernet switching, VLANs, and QoS
  • Knowledge of VPNs and tunneling (MPLS, VPLS, IKE/IPsec, GRE)
  • Understanding of remote VPNs and multi-factor authentication
  • Experience with stateful firewalls, security policies, and NAT
  • Understanding of SD-WAN and SASE fundamentals
  • Experience using packet analyzers such as Wireshark
  • Experience with carrier Ethernet installation and testing
  • Experience implementing service provider networks including dynamic routing, MPLS, voice prioritization, and redundancy
  • Proficiency with Juniper MX and SRX (JNCIP or equivalent)
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud networking platforms
  • Experience working with major carriers
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Proven project management abilities and the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SolarWinds, and VMware or vSphere
  • Windows system administration experience
  • Experience with SBCs, Hosted PBX, or IP PBX
  • Knowledge of UNIX or Linux
  • Advanced VoIP and SIP knowledge
  • Experience with media gateways (Adtran, Sonus, AudioCodes, Genband or similar)
  • Telecommunications wiring or switch/PBX programming experience
  • Experience with T1, PRI, and DS3 installation and testing

Responsibilities

  • Provision and maintain advanced dedicated customer and carrier connections
  • Perform routine maintenance and grooming of VoIP network infrastructure
  • Collaborate with Voice and Network Engineers and Tier 1-2 support to resolve SIP Trunking issues
  • Configure and optimize secure telephony across multi-vendor voice switches and data hardware
  • Monitor and respond to network troubles, outages, and events (on-call rotation)
  • Monitor and maintain company WAN environments (Juniper) and virtual infrastructure (VMware)
  • Monitor and maintain customer networks (Juniper, Adtran, TelcoBridge, Cato SASE)
  • Assist with PBX, SBC, and media gateway administration
  • Turn up new customer services (MPLS, Multilink DS1, DIA, SIP Trunking)
  • Coordinate circuit turn-ups, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs with carriers
  • Maintain network monitoring and management systems (SolarWinds)
  • Troubleshoot company and customer network issues
