About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise network and server infrastructure in a high-security, mission-driven environment. The Network Engineer will be responsible for administering Windows servers, network devices, and security systems while ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance. This position requires hands-on expertise in Cisco/Meraki cloud and on-premises solutions, as well as strong knowledge of Windows environments. Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering.
• Strong experience with Cisco/Meraki cloud and on-premises device management.
• Proficiency in Windows server administration, including WSUS and Active Directory management.
• In-depth understanding of networking principles and protocols, including routing, switching, and security.
• Familiarity with group policies, server performance monitoring, and optimization techniques.
• Hands-on experience with Multi-Factor Authentication (e.g., OKTA, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator).
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills and experience with endpoint protection tools (e.g., CrowdStrike).
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree and active or prior DHS experience.
• Preferred certifications: MCSE, MCSA, or Windows Server Administration certifications.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows server infrastructure, including WSUS, Active Directory, and related services.
• Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco/Meraki cloud and on-premises devices, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and security appliances.
• Monitor and optimize server and network performance, ensuring high availability and throughput.
• Implement and enforce security and compliance best practices across systems and network infrastructure.
• Provide guidance and support to IT staff while fostering collaboration across teams.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging Windows and Meraki technologies, applying best practices where applicable.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and proactively identify risks or areas for improvement.
