About The Position

As a Senior Network Engineer at Centrus Energy, you’ll be the backbone behind our enterprise infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity across local and wide area networks, data centers, and mission-critical systems. You’ll operate with a high level of autonomy, tackling complex technical challenges while helping shape the future of our IT environment in a secure, high-stakes industry. You’ll design, configure, and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and next-generation firewalls, while ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security across the environment. You’ll monitor system health, troubleshoot outages, manage patches and upgrades, and continuously assess network performance to recommend improvements and capacity planning strategies. In addition, you’ll support server and data center connectivity, assist with complex IT support issues, and collaborate with IT leadership and users to maintain efficient computing environments. You’ll also contribute to cybersecurity compliance efforts, support SCADA-related systems when needed, and stay ahead of emerging technologies to enhance the organization’s network capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business management, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Seven or more years of network engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, servers, operating systems, hardware platforms, and protocols
  • Experience configuring and supporting enterprise network infrastructure including switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network and system issues independently
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst switches and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco, A+, Network+, or Security+
  • Experience managing Microsoft Windows server environments including Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS
  • Experience with VMware or other virtualized environments
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements such as NIST, NRC, DOE, or COMSEC
  • Holds an Active “Q” Clearance
