MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT: As a Network Engineer Senior, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role via the following: Configures and maintains network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and firewalls Plans and executes network upgrades and expansion to ensure optimal performance and capacity Supports regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security gaps Monitors network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents and breaches Develops and enforces security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations Uses scripting to automate security tasks and security tool development. Designs and implements scalable and robust network solutions to support organizational needs Monitors network performance and troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to maintain operating efficiency and ensure quality transmission service on the network Uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues and has authority to deviate from standard operating procedures Maintains detailed documentation of network configurations, changes and procedures Stays up to date on current cybersecurity best practices and procedures WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Bring your cyber expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Network Engineer Senior must have: Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science, or related experience

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience
  • Strong knowledge of standard networking concepts like routing, VPNs, and LAN/WAN architecture
  • Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud networking concepts like ENIs, gateways, load balancers, ACM, and Route 53
  • Proficiency with various security products, including firewalls, WAFs, and vulnerability scanners
  • Experience with one or more programming or scripting concepts such as Python, Terraform, or PowerShell
  • Deep understanding of information security principles, such as cryptography, threat mitigation, and security trends
  • Comfort with a dynamic environment where creative solutions are required to resolve non-standard problems and meet evolving requirements
  • Security Clearance Level: Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
  • US Citizenship Required
