As a Network Engineer Senior with GDIT, you will be at the forefront of innovation, transforming technology into opportunity. This role involves supporting the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) and ensuring the safety and efficiency of network operations. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of various network systems, including LAN, WAN, and Internet communications. Your work will directly impact how agencies operate, making it crucial for the success of the mission.

  • Responsible for installation, configuration, and support of an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Agency Internet Network (AIN), Intranet and Internet and other data communications systems.
  • Maintains network hardware and software.
  • Monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and performs necessary maintenance to support network availability.
  • May supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
  • Provides leadership/mentorship to junior & mid-level network engineers.
  • Oversees network control center and provides support to projects that involve networks.
  • Performs a full range of complex network designs encompassing multiple technologies within a single network.
  • Evaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations to project managers regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network.
  • Plans new configurations for integration into the network, ensuring effective integration and optimal network performance.
  • Ensures adequate planning for hardware and communications facilities to develop and implement methodologies for analysis, installation, and support of voice communications systems.
  • Provides support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications requirements.
  • Analyzes user's requirements and develops network requirements specifications.
  • Guides users in formulating requirements and conducts feasibility studies.
  • Provides technical leadership for the integration of network requirements, design, and technology.
  • Incorporates new network plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Develops network architecture and network design documentation.
  • Guides network development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of network engineering management plans.
  • Designs and performs integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks.
  • Provides advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems.
  • Manages the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemes.
  • Interacts with the Government regarding Network Engineering technical considerations.
  • Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master's Degree with 10 years of experience.
  • 10+ years of related experience in network engineering.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
  • Required Skillset: Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variance, and effectively manage large scale, integrated projects.
  • Review and/or approve Network engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating Network integration activities.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification.
  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
  • CCNA certification to start and CCNP within 180 days of start date.
