About The Position

USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety. Network Engineer, Port Density Capacity: Supports the development of capacity utilization dashboards that detail port density capacity and performance metrics. Assists in developing and delivering capacity and performance reports as needed. Validates, documents, tracks, and manages the as-is capacity for port density resource area. Monitors current performance and utilization, capacity projections, capacity issues, and assists in creating plans for improving performance and satisfying Government-approved Service Levels. Defines and develops capacity utilization dashboards that detail port density capacity and performance metrics. Develops and delivers capacity and performance reports as needed. Routinely interfaces with Government Capacity Manager and technical stakeholders to communicate port density capacity and performance status, changes, and issues. Manages and tracks port density data and availability. Extracts data out of a variety of systems that manage capacity and performance such as SolarWinds and/or NetApp. Researches and designs processes to make port density available on switches.

Requirements

  • Masters or equivalent education.
  • 8+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Required certifications: Security + or CASP+ or CCNP Security or CISA or SSCP.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
  • SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP).
  • Certified Capacity Management Practitioner (CCMP).
  • ITIL 4 Specialist: Create, Deliver and Support (CDS).
