AT&T is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Network Engineer: To join our Connectivity Operations Team. In this role, you will play a vital part in keeping our customers’ network infrastructure secure, reliable, and efficient; supporting both day-to-day operations and exciting new projects. Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities: This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.
  • Associate's degree in engineering technology from an accredited college is required. Two (2) additional years of network engineering experience may be substituted for the Associate’s degree.
  • MUST be 8570 / CWIP compliant with either A+, Network+ (Net+), or Security+ certification.
  • CCNA certification is required.
  • Experience with installation and configuration of network devices, such as firewalls, switches, routers, and cabling.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
  • Experience with network operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and ticketing systems.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record and be eligible to drive an AT&T company vehicle.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to follow established procedures.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and respond to after-hours incidents as needed
  • TS/SCI with polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently follow established procedures for the Connectivity Operations Team, utilizing ticketing systems for issue tracking and detailed documentation for all network activities.
  • Provide hands-on support for network upgrade projects and initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Respond promptly to hardware failures by replacing networking components such as switches, routers, and access points as needed.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving end-user connectivity issues, delivering responsive and professional service.
  • Participate in the installation, maintenance, operation, and security of LAN infrastructure and network devices to support organizational needs.
  • Manage access to network segments and resources in accordance with established network access policies and security protocols.
  • Regularly update and refresh network hardware, operating systems, and software to ensure optimal functionality, performance, and security.
  • Strictly adhere to change and configuration management processes to maintain network integrity and compliance.
