About The Position

The scope of this Contract requires specialized expertise in areas such as high-performance computing (HPC), automated processing systems, distributed software design, and secure hosting and networking solutions. The IT infrastructure consists of a mix of Linux, Windows, and UNIX. The environment includes a variety of network devices, server interconnections, mass storage solutions, and essential supporting infrastructure services. The services provided under this Contract support areas including HPC, infrastructure maintenance for HPC systems, networking, office automation, and the development of specialized software. AT&T has an opening for a Network Engineer: To support our end-user community by providing Tier 2 and 3 on-site and remote supports for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment. This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in technical field and five (5) years demonstrable experience (or 10 years demonstrable experience without degree) in network engineering (LAN), architecture, monitoring, security, and protection.
  • CCNP certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Tool Suite.
  • Experience with virtualization products; VMWare and Solaris containers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2/3 network engineering support for end user and enterprise environments.
  • Deliver system level design, architecture, and enterprise security solution.
  • Configure, install and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
  • Manage network boundaries, datacenter virtualization, CAN/LAN/MAN infrastructure, and packet capture software.
  • Administer routing/switching protocols, TCP/IP protocol stack, stateful firewalls and L3/L4 access controls.
  • Support local-campus networks, workplace peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents to ensure availability, performance, and security.
  • Document technical processes, maintain system records and provide knowledge transfer.
  • Able to support on-call requirements.
