We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team supporting the FBI's Information Technology Infrastructure Division.   • Provide technical support and analysis related to switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, encryptors, common routing protocols and telecommunications technologies.
  • Ensure that all tickets are acknowledged and updated in accordance with government and contract lead guidance.
  • When enterprise network monitoring systems generate alerts or warnings, ensure that they are responded to in accordance with the process provided by the government.
  • Provide technical support and expertise toward the resolution of outages and issues with FBI IT Networks and Systems.
  • Provide feedback to the Senior Network Engineer and Project Lead on possible improvements to systems and processes observed through the course of their work.
  • Support the work of the Network Management and Network Engineering Units by executing supporting tasks documented in either the service ticket management system or the project management system and reporting the results of those tasks into the appropriate system.
  • Provide high-quality and professional customer service in all interactions.
  • Contribute to data analysis and reporting related to the work done by the NOC, including after action reviews of critical tickets.
  • Active Top-Secret security clearance
  • At least 3 years of networking experience with specialization in networking technologies, specifically with Cisco switches and routers and resolving LAN/WAN issues.
  • Basic knowledge of IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, Stateful firewalls and encryption technologies.
  • Working knowledge of network management tools, such as Riverbed, Wireshark, Micro Focus Network Automation, etc.
  • Working knowledge of web applications, web servers, application load balancers and storage systems. Must have good knowledge of general security tools and methodologies such as firewalls, (IDS)/IPS and access control lists.
  • Associates of Science degree (preferred) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Enterprise Core and Infrastructure certification.
