Details: Experience Required 10+ years of overall IT experience, 8+ years in development or engineering roles Deep understanding of network protocols and standards (TCP/IP, SNA, VTAM, APPN, Enterprise Extender) Expertise in network security and encryption (SSL/TLS, SSH, AT-TLS) Experience with IBM z/OS Communications Server and Policy Agent (Pagent) Proficiency in network analysis and troubleshooting tools (packet capture, sniffer traces) Strong hands-on expertise in at least one programming language (or working knowledge of two) Minimum 5 years of experience with IBM z/OS Communications Server, including: o SNA, VTAM, APPN / Enterprise Extender o TCP/IP stack configuration Network Analysis & Troubleshooting Analyze TCP/IP packet captures and network traces Execute and interpret VTAM traces to resolve complex issues Support Enterprise Extender (EE) for SNA over IP Security & Protocol Management Configure and maintain z/OS Policy Agent (Pagent) Manage digital certificates and keyrings Support secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, Connect:Direct) System Support & Infrastructure Support IBM 3270 emulators (PCOMM, HOD, HACP-EE) Maintain enterprise printing systems and protocols (PCL, PostScript) Reporting & Performance Generate reports using SMF data, REXX, CLIST, or Java Perform performance monitoring and capacity planning Preferred Experience Programming experience in Java or other languages Experience with Linux/Unix environments Familiarity with automation and scripting (REXX, CLIST) Experience with tools such as PuTTY, WinSCP, ServiceNow Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams Listed salary ranges may vary based on experience, qualifications, and local market. Requirements
- 10+ years of overall IT experience, 8+ years in development or engineering roles
- Deep understanding of network protocols and standards (TCP/IP, SNA, VTAM, APPN, Enterprise Extender)
- Expertise in network security and encryption (SSL/TLS, SSH, AT-TLS)
- Experience with IBM z/OS Communications Server and Policy Agent (Pagent)
- Proficiency in network analysis and troubleshooting tools (packet capture, sniffer traces)

Responsibilities
- Define and design network architecture, including layout, components, and data flow
- Develop deployment strategies and lead implementations, including handoff to operations
- Lead deployment of network technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, QoS, and wireless access points
- Implement and maintain network security, including intrusion detection and data encryption
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA)
- Integrate new network and telecommunications technologies
- Optimize network performance, minimize latency, and maximize throughput
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and network performance analysis
- Configure and maintain z/OS Policy Agent (Pagent)
- Manage digital certificates and keyrings
