About The Position

CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer (Level 2) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and design, with a focus on Department of Defense (DoD) communication systems and networks. This role requires evening and weekday availability for watch floor responsibilities.

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree in Engineering, an Engineering Discipline, or in a Technical Discipline is desired.
  • At least four (4) years of practical engineering and design experience in DoD communication systems and networks.
  • Proven experience in configuring and maintaining Cisco networks.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex network issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security principles and practices.
  • Experience in optimizing network performance.
  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
  • Security+ CE (CompTIA Security+ with Continuing Education)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Network Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain Cisco networks, including routers and switches. Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure network stability and performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime. Implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.
  • Network Security: Ensure the security of the network by implementing best practices and protocols. Monitor network traffic for unusual activities and potential security threats.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize network performance through continuous monitoring and adjustments. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvements as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless network operations. Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
