About The Position

As a Network Engineer IV at Spectrum, you will play a crucial role in leading the planning, implementation, and enhancement of complex network systems. This position involves designing corporate standards, developing network enhancements, and mentoring junior staff. You will work closely with architects and engineers to ensure the stability and efficiency of the network infrastructure, ultimately enhancing the customer experience.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of data network experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of data networking (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point).
  • Experience with security certification standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation in testing.
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and performance tuning.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
  • Juniper Network Certified Specialist (JNCIS or JNCIP) certification.
  • Knowledge of company products and services.
  • Industry and vendor-specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for high-complexity network systems.
  • Design and establish corporate standards for network systems.
  • Develop and implement network enhancements and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Lead the implementation of approved network architecture and designs.
  • Mentor and train other engineering personnel in key elements of networking systems.
  • Plan, design, and execute certification testing for various firewall platforms and configurations.
  • Develop, run, and maintain automated testing frameworks for consistent firewall performance and security evaluations.
  • Collaborate with security teams to validate firewall rule sets and traffic flow.
  • Stay updated with evolving firewall technologies and implement enhancements in testing processes.
  • Document project requirements including scope, costs, schedule, testing, and terms of delivery.
