About The Position

The Network Engineer IV supports the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network Labor Contract to administer, maintain, secure, and accredit the DLIFLC Academic Network which provides the IT environment for 100% of the DLIFLC teaching and instructing for all students, staff, faculty, and guests in a learning environment at the unclassified level.

Requirements

• BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years experience in Network Engineering or substitute with AA/AS with 7+ years experience.
• Require anyone of the following IAT Level II (CySA+, Security+, CND, or SSCP) Certification and CE/OS Certification.
• 7 years of progressive experience in computer system/network engineering, including 2 years of specialized experience related to the tasks.
• Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Wired and wireless network performance monitoring, network optimization, testing, IT project management, implementation of network security controls, advanced troubleshooting and analyzing all elements of the network infrastructure.
• Ensures the datacenter operates 24x7 with DoD-directed updates and security patches.
• Monitor, document, and control the Academic Network performance for response, throughput, and availability.
• Identify and resolve hardware and software issues related to the commercial network’s wireless and hardwired elements.
• Identify opportunities and solutions for improving efficiencies with emerging technologies.
• Manage the Academic Network internet IP addressing schemes to ensure maximum availability.
• Manage the Cybersecurity Network and Boundary Defense, Intrusion Detection tools and Techniques, and Incident Response.
• Research, recommend, and implement best business practices for controlling and monitoring access to the Academic Network.
