About The Position

The Network Engineer Intern position at ASRC Federal offers undergraduate college students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in network engineering and infrastructure while supporting government customer programs. This temporary, on-site internship in San Antonio, TX, allows interns to work closely with dedicated mentors and contribute to real-world missions over a 10-week summer program.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Network Security, or a relevant field.
• Must be a junior or senior in college at the time of application.
• Understanding of network infrastructure and hardware.
• Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
• Ability to review, plan, configure, patch, evaluate, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of network routers, switching, and firewalls.
• Understanding of data center, voice, wireless, and SD-WAN technologies.
• Experience working in a Cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, updating, and maintenance of network systems.
• Assist in reviewing, planning, configuring, patching, evaluating, monitoring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure.
• Help support daily operations and service requests, recommending improvements to the network.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication within systems.
