About The Position

The Network Engineer III is the subject matter expert responsible for the design, configuration, and management of large-scale enterprise, datacenter, manufacturing, and retail networks. This position will work within the Network Engineering team in Enterprise Technology Operations (ETO), collaborating with other engineering teams, Information Security, Project Management/Portfolio Management, facilities, and vendors to plan, design, implement and operate all network services.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of hands-on experience with firewall design/configuration.
  • Experience with client-based VPN solutions such as Global Protect from Palo Alto.
  • Advanced understanding of the OSI model, subnetting, and troubleshooting networking issues.
  • Knowledge of tools such as IP scanners and packet capture & analysis.
  • Advanced understanding of 802.1q VLANs, VXLAN, spanning tree, dynamic routing with OSPF and/or BGP.
  • Ability to make recommendations for network architecture improvements.
  • Excellent documentation and knowledge transfer skills.
  • Ability to understand, create, and explain network diagrams and topologies.
  • Willingness to mentor more junior engineers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and products.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud networking and experience with Terraform in Azure.

Nice To Haves

  • CCNP and/or PCNSE certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with ITIL frameworks, including change management processes.
  • Azure Solution Architect or a Cloud-based certification focused on Cloud Networking.
  • Firm understanding of network access control technologies, preferably Cisco ISE.
  • Firm understanding of Software Defined Networking, preferably Cisco Nexus and SD-WAN.
  • Experience in JIRA and Agile Methodology.

  • Design, configure, and manage large-scale enterprise networks.

  • Monitor network utilization and anticipate capacity problems.
  • Develop and evaluate network performance criteria and measurement methods.
  • Create operational documentation focusing on business outcomes.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Drive innovation and creative solutions that deliver business results.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications.
