About the position

The Network Engineer - III position is a remote role focused on supporting the Core Network Engineering team, particularly in the South Central and South East Markets. The role involves integrating and engineering a Leaf-and-Spine network fabric using Cisco and Nokia technologies, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic technology goals, including the migration to the eNSE network fabric platform.

Responsibilities

• Assist and perform engineering responsibilities integrating the network fabric comprised of Leaf-and-Spine architecture.
• Develop network configurations from design models and templates.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure new networks are built, migrated, and decommissioned.
• Build networks for interconnection to Cloud Platforms for growth, capacity, and expansion.
• Work with underlay and overlay controllers for network creation, modeling, and deployments.
• Engineer network solutions and work independently with strong interaction with application teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent data networking and telecommunications service experience.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in data networking and telecommunications, preferably in a service provider or large enterprise network environment.
• Expert knowledge and hands-on experience configuring Nokia (Alcatel Lucent) routers, switches, and related network equipment.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Carrier Routing Systems (CRS), Cisco Network Convergence System (NCS), ASR 9K, ISR 3945, Nexus 3K, 7K, 9K.
• Solid understanding of networking technologies such as VXLAN, EVPN, L2VPN, L3VPN, OSPF, ISIS, MP-BGP, BGP-LU, QOS/Traffic Engineering, MPLS, and Segment routing.
• CCIE certification or equivalent level.

Nice-to-haves

• Cloud and scripting experience (Linux, Openstack, Python, automation, ansibles, and virtualization).
