About The Position

The Work As a primary Network Development Engineer for the C2BMC program, you will plan, deploy, integrate, and test network upgrades across operational sites. Working within an agile scrum team, you’ll translate customer requirements and contractual obligations into actionable tasks, travel to remote locations (e.g., Schriever SFB, Alaska, Guam, Europe) to lead installations, troubleshoot issues independently, and keep program personnel informed of status and outcomes. Please Note: - This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. - This position is based at a Lockheed Martin facility in Colorado Springs, CO. The role requires flexibility to travel to alternate work locations as needed. C2BMC|Lockheed Martin Who You Are You are a proven mid‑level network engineer with solid hands‑on experience in network design, development, and testing. You understand the OSI model, TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF, and possess strong traffic‑analysis and troubleshooting skills. You are comfortable with multi‑vendor firewalls (Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto), multicast, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and optical transport technologies, and you thrive in collaborative, fast‑paced agile environments. Requirements

  • An active Final Top Secret security clearance is required.
  • Must possess a DoD 8140/8150 IAT Level II compliant certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or other certs such as CISSP or CASP. If you don't possess the certification, you must be able to obtain the certification within 60 days of starting.
  • Demonstrated experience with network design, development, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of OSI model, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and network traffic analysis.
  • Hands‑on firewall experience (Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
  • Experience with UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs.

Nice To Haves

  • Multi‑vendor switching/routing expertise (Juniper, Cisco) and WAN optimizer experience.
  • CCNA or JNCIA certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with TACLANEs and optical transport equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile scrum environment.
  • Knowledge of DoD security standards, STIG compliance, and system accreditation processes.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies (NFV, SD‑WAN, VMware, VMware Cloud Foundation, NSX, vSAN, Aria).
  • Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Prior involvement with the C2BMC program is a plus.
