About The Position

The Network Engineer III is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, operating, and monitoring and troubleshooting all networking equipment supporting Experity's internal and external customers. This role will be involved in project planning/execution, which includes defining the needs, benefits, costs, and tasks required to complete each project. The individual must also be able to research new products, services, and technology, allowing for continued innovation in the team's services.

Requirements

  • Five years in network administration or related IT field.
  • Solid understanding of ITSM concepts.
  • Ability to keep paperwork/files and other items organized.
  • Strong network hardware skills including firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Advanced routing knowledge (BGP, OSPF).
  • Advanced network protocol knowledge (VLANs, STP, REP).
  • HIPAA Awareness and compliance.
  • Understanding of DevOps mindset.
  • Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly with tools like Terraform & Ansible.
  • Experience with network performance tuning, using advanced monitoring and analytics tools to optimize network traffic and resource utilization.
  • Ability to keep documentation/files and other items organized.
  • Strong network hardware skills including firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • AWS networking understanding (VPC, Subnets, transit gateways, direct connects).
  • Understanding of Network Automation Ideal (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins).
  • HIPAA Awareness and compliance.
  • Strong core Networking knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of IAC toolsets.
  • Experience with Network security solutions (Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security policy enforcement.)
  • Proficient in scripting & use of Python, Bash, or PowerShell for network management tasks.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel as needed (minimal).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HP, Cisco, AWS and VMWare.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain sophisticated IaC scripts for network configurations.
  • Focus on creating highly scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant network architectures using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Incorporate best practices for version control, testing, and deployment strategies.
  • Architect and enhance security frameworks, including advanced configurations of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and next-generation firewalls (NGFW).
  • Utilize advanced automation features to orchestrate complex network deployments, updates, and migrations. Implement CI/CD pipelines for network changes to ensure consistency and reliability.
  • Design, test, and execute comprehensive disaster recovery strategies. Ensure that network infrastructures are built with redundancy and can maintain high availability under various failure scenarios.
  • Oversee the maintenance of critical network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring they are up-to-date and optimized for optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot complex IT-related issues and resolve them quickly.
  • Determine thresholds and configure monitoring software to monitor key networking components for proper operation.
  • Participate in and manage on-call rotations, focusing on rapid and effective resolution of critical network issues, minimizing downtime, and impact on business operations.
  • Act as a mentor to Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff, providing advanced training on network technologies, security practices, and IaC. Develop training materials and conduct workshops or seminars.
  • Work closely with hardware and software vendors to resolve issues, manage licenses, and perform compatibility checks. Lead evaluations of new technologies and products, providing recommendations on integration and potential benefits.
  • Prioritize, track, and complete assigned tasks.
  • Organize IT-related paperwork and other items.
  • Keep management updated on project status.
  • Perform and maintain network configuration backups.
  • Perform daily health checks of all critical networking components.
  • Evaluate new technologies and products to determine how they can benefit the company.
  • Monitor and maintain networks at all datacenter locations.
  • Provide all levels of support to employees
  • Other duties as assigned.
