About the Role We are hiring a Network Engineer III to support, maintain, and evolve ASI's network infrastructure across corporate environments and autonomous technology operations. This role ensures high availability, security, scalability, and performance of networking systems that support internal teams, customer deployments, and field validation efforts. Engineers collaborate closely with IT, security, robotics, and systems teams. Scope expands by level from foundational operational support (Level I), to independent ownership of network systems and improvements (Level II), to enterprise architecture leadership and advanced security implementation (Level III). This role is based in DFW, TX and may require occasional support of field deployments or remote sites.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or network security roles
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Expertise in enterprise networking (routing, switching, MPLS, SD-WAN)
Deep knowledge of network security frameworks and advanced security architecture
Experience implementing IDS/IPS, Zero Trust architecture, and disaster recovery strategies
Hands-on experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Strong proficiency in network automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform)
Experience leading infrastructure projects and mentoring engineers
Certifications preferred: CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent
Ability to design and own enterprise-level network architecture

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting robotics, automation, or field-deployed systems
Exposure to hybrid cloud and on-prem network environments
Experience implementing network segmentation in high-security environments
Familiarity with Agile or iterative infrastructure improvement practices

Responsibilities

Maintain and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless systems, and related infrastructure
Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability across environments
Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and performance issues
Install, configure, and upgrade network hardware and software
Support secure connectivity for remote teams and deployed systems
Document network configurations, standards, and troubleshooting procedures (Level III scope includes architecture design, scalability planning, and enterprise optimization.)
Assist with firewall configuration, patching, and security updates
Implement and maintain VPN access controls and segmentation strategies
Support security monitoring, vulnerability mitigation, and incident response
Apply network security best practices aligned with industry standards (Level III scope includes risk assessments, security audits, IDS/IPS implementation, Zero Trust architecture, and disaster recovery planning.)
Contribute to network performance improvements and infrastructure upgrades
Assist with scripting or automation of routine network tasks
Participate in system upgrades and infrastructure modernization efforts
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support robotics and autonomous deployments (Level III scope includes network automation using tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, SD-WAN implementation, and strategic infrastructure initiatives.)
Work closely with IT, security, engineering, and operations teams
Escalate complex issues appropriately (Level I) or resolve independently (Level II/III)
Adapt to changing priorities based on deployment schedules and business needs
Participate in technical reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts (Level III may mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives.)
