About The Position

The Network Engineer III will work as a member of the Network Team, primarily focusing on completing client network projects. This role is responsible for the initial configuration and installation of network hardware, as well as providing support following installation.

Requirements

  • Ticketing software for incident management and time allocation
  • Advanced network troubleshooting skills, including DHCP, DNS, and circuit/ISP issues
  • Proficiency with command-line tools and software used to diagnose network problems
  • Advanced knowledge of Aruba wireless and switching
  • Advanced knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls
  • Documentation tools (IT Glue)
  • Communication tools (Office and Teams)
  • Additional software as assigned
  • Ability to use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment
  • Ability to talk, hear, and see, and to read, write, and interpret written documents
  • May occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to meet these requirements with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Document all time daily (activities, projects, tickets) in the ticketing system at the time work is performed
  • Ensure in-progress tickets are handed off before the end of shift
  • Document new customer findings by creating or updating articles in IT Glue
  • Analyze business requirements to develop network solutions
  • Design, test, and inspect data communication systems
  • Perform network capacity analysis and planning
  • Assist in product solution evaluation and planning
  • Install and configure network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless) following established standards
  • Provide network support for client infrastructure and serve as escalation support for junior technical staff
  • Participate in an on-call rotation
  • Build client rapport during onsite assignments through in-person troubleshooting, site walkthroughs, FaceTime, and related activities
  • Travel to client locations for evaluations and project work as assigned (up to 25–50%)
