Our client is currently seeking a Network Engineer - III to join the Core Network Engineering and Implementation team. This role involves engineering the new eNSE platform located within data centers throughout the United States. As part of the Network Build Team, the successful candidate will assist with and perform implementation responsibilities while collaborating closely with diverse Engineering teams to achieve strategic technology goals and transition from VXLAN to the eNSE platform. This new network leverages virtualization and software-defined networking to transform how products and services are provided, maintaining the company's position as an industry leader. The Network Engineer will be responsible for engineering IP networking build projects and will work closely with the Capacity Planning, Design, and Operations teams to implement strategic technology goals. The candidate will create an environment of teamwork and cooperation with all stakeholders, including territories, edge, and design. Key responsibilities include writing technical and detailed Layer 1 equipment installation and fiber testing Method of Procedures (MOP), scheduling, tracking, and correcting testing failures, and collaborating with local market team members across the United States to deploy and troubleshoot newly installed racked routers and switches in Wireless MSCs (Mobile Switching Centers). Additionally, the role requires developing network configurations from design models/templates by creating MOPs for Engineers to implement during network maintenance windows. The candidate should have hands-on experience configuring routers, switches, and related network equipment, preferably with Cisco Carrier Routing Systems (CRS), Cisco Network Convergence System (NCS), ASR 9K, ISR 3945, Nexus 3K, 7K, 9K, and Juniper MX-480, MX-960. The position also involves working remotely with local operation team members throughout the United States to deploy and troubleshoot newly installed racked routers and switches into data center locations, working independently with minimal supervision to meet aggressive deployment dates and timelines. The ideal candidate will be motivated and driven, with the ability to quickly adapt and learn new tasks and processes around deploying new routers and switches in a remote setting. Mentoring new team members and utilizing automated workflows to assist with device configuration are also key aspects of the role. The candidate will support strategic technology goals, including the ongoing migration of core elements to the intelligent edge network, and will work on engineering and deploying directional networks for Intelligent Edge, including SAP ENSE Fabric, Access ENSE fabric, ISP, NNI, and 5G connectivity. Responsibilities also include engineering network configurations for onboarding private cloud tenants and building networks for interconnection to Cloud Platforms (VCP) for growth, capacity, and expansion.
