The Network Engineer II is responsible for operating and maintaining the company's internal data communications systems, planning, designing, and implementing local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP). This role involves advanced support and troubleshooting of network issues, performance optimization, and coordination with vendors for the installation and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Operate and maintain the company's internal data communications systems.
  • Plan, design, and implement local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols, including IP and VOIP.
  • Provide advanced support and troubleshooting for network issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Coordinate with vendors for the installation and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance and security, utilizing network monitoring tools.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of network policies and procedures.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, processes, and service records.
  • Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and industry trends.
  • Optimize network performance and ensure network security through the use of technologies such as VPN, IDS/IPS.
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • Typically 2+ years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Understanding of routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
  • Knowledge of VLANs and subnetting.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with network security technologies (e.g., VPN, IDS/IPS).
  • Certifications: CCNA or higher (e.g., CCNP).
  • Experience with network design and implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with network security practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of VOIP systems and protocols.
