About The Position

Maintain network infrastructure and day-to-day tier 1 support. Monitor network functionality with the use of monitoring/reporting tools. Maintain and support remote network installations. Assist with new installations, daily operations, and senior engineers during network outages and upgrades. Assisted with the testing and support of new installations and LCM efforts. After-hours support on a rotating schedule. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 70% - Trouble ticket diagnosis and resolution, installations, and assistance with day-to-day operations for the team. 15% - Assist with maintaining patches on Infrastructure/equipment. 10%- Project-related efforts and meetings. 5% - Administrative/documentation.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience in IT or equivalent Training
  • Experience in customer support
  • Basic support in Python, git, yang models, JSON, and rest-based APIs
  • Good verbal / written communication skills
  • Ability to follow complex verbal/written instructions
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature
  • Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required

Nice To Haves

  • Network + /CCT or working toward CCNA
  • Experience in multi-vendor environments such as Cisco/Aruba
  • Cable terminations, fiber, and cable test equipment usage
