Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience within Network Engineering, VoIP engineering and/or Unified Communications
  • Obtain applicable certifications within pre-determined timeframe, when required.
  • ITIL Certified (Information Technology Infrastructure Library
  • CompTIA + Certifications (Computer Technology Industry Association) (Servers, Security, Network)
  • Agile Scrum
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

Responsibilities

  • Possesses excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to interact effectively with teams and customers
  • Works within the defined standard processes, systems, and frameworks
  • Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical abilities in resolving issues, designing solutions and performing root cause analysis for network, voice and unified communication workloads.
  • Participate in the development of time and cost estimates for proposed projects and be versed in the principles of project management; be able to lead out team response as necessary.
  • Work with different carriers and vendors to troubleshoot and maintain networks, applications and/or voice systems in a healthcare environment.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new network designs and platforms.
  • Participate in the design and setup of network closets based on senior engineer designs, vendor specifications, and physical security requirements.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network and/or voice performance problems. Tune network configurations to reach optimal operating capacities.
  • Develop disaster recovery processes and procedures for voice and data networks.
  • Ability to execute assignments without significant supervision
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide off-hours support
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to fellow engineers.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of networking concepts by identifying self-training opportunities and/or conferences that align with training goals.
  • Develop and maintain support documentation to benefit our customers as well as teammates.
  • Network segmentation experience (network/campus segmentation) in a Cisco environment
