About The Position

The position involves analyzing business needs and developing or procuring technological solutions for the company on a global scale. The role requires monitoring and evaluating solutions, troubleshooting issues to ensure service quality and IT systems performance. Responsibilities include supporting the specification, installation, testing, and monitoring of network systems and peripherals to deliver operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
• 3 - 5 years of experience with configuration and management of enterprise networking hardware.
• Experience with networking protocols including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and Cisco proprietary protocols.
• Ability to work independently and multitask in a real-time environment.
• Good troubleshooting skills and sound decision-making abilities.
• Ability to maintain technical expertise in network and computer hardware and software.
• Ability to travel offsite including international locations on average 40% annually.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Mid-level networking certifications strongly preferred.
• Industry experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design.
• Work directly with business groups to develop solutions.
• Manage project implementation and rollout, signing off on vendor deliverables.
• Create or upgrade network components to meet business demands and infrastructure upgrades.
• Evaluate LAN/WAN hardware and software requirements and capabilities related to user needs.
• Develop and document standards for network architecture.
• Coordinate maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoot problems.
• Utilize monitoring tools to ensure optimum system availability.
• Partner with vendors to schedule and implement maintenance updates.
• Schedule and monitor backups of critical systems.
• Develop uniform operation procedures for network hardware and software.
• Provide infrastructure support for events including network troubleshooting.
• Provide repositioning support to vessels and piers worldwide.
• Participate in the Network on-call schedule as required.
• Research and engage vendors, procure quotes for budget submission.
• Assist the telecommunication team with day-to-day tasks.
