About The Position

As a Network Engineer supporting the Operational Technology (OT) team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, reliable network infrastructure across our OT environments. This role requires close coordination with Enterprise IT to define ownership boundaries and ensure alignment with broader network and security standards. Configure and maintain network infrastructure and remote connectivity solutions including firewalls, routers, and VPNs. Identify and implement improvements to enhance OT network security, including segmentation strategies aligned with NIST guidelines. Plan and execute network upgrades, including IPv6 transition and hardware refreshes. Monitor and maintain overall network health and performance. Utilize tools to continuously assess performance, availability, and security. Diagnose and resolve network-related issues across OT environments. Architect scalable and secure network solutions tailored to OT needs. Ensure network configurations meet regulatory and internal compliance standards. Coordinate change control processes with Enterprise IT for network infrastructure updates and modifications. Participate in incident response and troubleshooting for network-related outages and degradations. Support capacity planning by analyzing network usage trends and forecasting future needs. Exhibit strong ownership, urgency, and accountability. Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Effectively manage multiple support workstreams and prioritize tasks. Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to complex technical challenges. Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent experience.
  • CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • 3-5 or more years of experience in network engineering, preferably in OT or industrial environments.
  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment, VPNs, and firewall technologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
  • Understanding of network security principles, including segmentation and NIST-based frameworks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with field engineers, IT teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Ansible) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
