Job Summary: The Network Engineer I - OMS (Operations and Maintenance Services) will deploy and support network infrastructure at the access layer and assist with device configuration, documentation, field-based troubleshooting, and advance knowledge in data center networking. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Configure Layer 2 switch settings, VLANs, and port assignments. Support rack buildouts, patch panel mapping, and IP assignments. Monitor network ports, assist in MAC address tracking, and patch audits. Collaborate with field teams during turn-ups and cutovers. Advance network troubleshooting. Handles other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Must be able to communicate with the customer and have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Basic Hand Tools: screwdriver - all sizes (regular and Phillips,), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (adjustable, needle nose, lineman), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves. Multimeter, butt-set, toner/wand.
  • Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Must be able to work well with other people
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • 2-4+ years of hands-on networking or IT infrastructure experience.
  • Familiarity with CLI tools, structured documentation, and cabling maps.
  • Experience configuring switches from vendors like Cisco or Arista.
  • CCNA or CompTIA Network+ or equivalent; fiber certs a plus.
