Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. In this role as a Network Development Engineer, you will be part of the lab technical team designing and building the network that enables Leo. Define the long term vision, design the technical solutions, and implement the design. This role is focused on our terrestrial network. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

  • Collaborate with engineers and leaders across the org to define connectivity solutions for Leo.
  • Provide technical leadership for Leo's terrestrial network plan and implementation for sites around the world.
  • Define network solutions for Leo's launch, manufacturing, and lab sites.
  • Support and champion the full lifecycle of networking, including enabling improved support tooling and monitoring capabilities.
  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 1+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
  • 3+ years of working with Cisco and/or Juniper network gear
  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
  • 3+ years building networking solutions for global deployments
  • Experience with AWS and AWS networking products such as Direct Connect and Transit Gateway
