Guided by customer requirements, describe a generic network architecture that is device independent and satisfies the goals and requirements of the customer. Create a detailed network design that is architecturally compliant, incorporates Agency standard networking components, meets cost and performance requirements, and adheres to all existing Agency and government regulations. Evaluate new network technologies or equipment that can be added to Agency standard solutions. Develop strategies to migrate existing customers to new architecture/technology with minimal impact.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly.
  • Bachelor's degree plus 8-years of relevant experience, or Master's degree plus 6-years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree plus 10-years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED plus 12-years of relevant experience may be considered.
  • Degree must be in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • Able to obtain an IAT-I certification, such as: A+CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+CE, SSCP.
  • Relevant experience must be in computer or information systems design/development, programming, information/cyber/network security, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, computer forensics, information assurance and/or systems engineering.
  • Experience in network or system administration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience deploying and maintaining nginx.
  • Familiarity with Docker and RedHat Satellite.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing environments like AWS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) products like Terraform, SALT and Ansible as well as system monitoring platforms like Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience with SELinux and FIPS.

Responsibilities

  • Actively manage enterprise computer systems and networks, analyzing technical issues, and developing and implementing corrective actions.
  • Observe and interpret visual outputs indicating the operating status of systems and network components for designated computer network infrastructure.
  • Translate user requests into technical diagnoses, then apply diagnoses to develop technical solutions to meet user needs.
  • Develop strategies to migrate existing customers to new architecture/technology with minimal impact.
  • Evaluate new technologies or equipment that can be added to Agency standard solutions.
