About The Position

CACI's Enterprise Network Solutions division, is seeking a Network Plant/CAD Technician. You'll focus on detailed CAD drawings, infrastructure audits, assessments, design, and implementation for telecommunication modernization efforts including inside and outside plant infrastructure. Requirements

  • Practical experience with AutoCAD software
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required (Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Engineering and Construction
  • Familiarity with OSP/ISP design and implementation
  • Familiarity with industry telecommunications standards (e.g. TIA, BICSI, NEC, NESC, etc.)
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting work orders, technical drawings/documents, circuit diagrams, and construction drawings
  • Experience in inside and outside plant cabling
  • Requires periodic travel (25-50%)
  • Associate's degree in drafting or other related discipline and 2-3 years of related experience or a combination of skills, education, and experience
  • Experience following direction and working in a team environment
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • There is no clearance requirement to begin employment. As a requirement of continued employment you will be required to obtain Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity of testing cabling related to equipment/systems and following standard test procedures, desired
  • Familiarity with common test equipment (e.g. Optical Power Meter, OTDR, CAT 5/6 test set, Multi-Meter), helpful

Responsibilities

  • Assist with and conduct network plant CAD drawings, infrastructure audits, assessments, design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Interpreting project briefs and meeting with clients, engineers, and technicians to ensure all technical drawings are completed to specifications.
  • Producing rough sketches and using CAD software to prepare detailed drawings, plans, and prints.
  • Updating software, drawings, and other documents.
  • Ensuring drawings are compliant with engineering standards.
  • Be accountable for the maintenance of the CAD drawing library.
  • Assist in research and provide information on outside plant and inside plant recommendations including alternate materials and installation solutions
  • Assist with site surveys and document current site conditions, cabling, and power/ground circuits, equipment and racking inventory, and user requirements
  • Follow engineering installation packages and work with installation teams to install OSP/ISP infrastructure to include copper and fiber optic cabling and supporting infrastructure (conduit, cable ladders, rack, cabinets, etc.)
  • Assist with active equipment installation, signal cable installations and cable connections and labeling
  • Assist with documenting related changes at each site
  • Travel to other CACI Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
  • Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to CACI EH&S policies and procedures by obtaining OSHA 30-Hour or EM 385-1-1 40-Hour Training and confined space training.
  • Perform other duties as required
