The Network Architect role is responsible for design, operations, life cycle management, and security of all DataBank data center and enterprise networks. This includes 74 data centers across 29 markets in the US and EMEA. This engineering role will work directly with other internal engineering, cloud, operations, sales, product, and data center teams to ensure the resiliency and reliability of all network products and services. You will provide subject matter expertise in their responsibilities across the business and mentor junior engineering staff to increase team effectiveness. You have a team first mentality and work well cross functionally in a fast-paced environment. You will report to Director of Network Architecture and will work remote.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on technical experience in Service Provider and Cloud networks
• Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, telecommunications engineering, or related discipline
• Juniper JNCIP Certification
• Extensive experience with OSPF, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, STP, MPLS, DMVPN, VPN, IPSEC, DNS, DHCP, NTP
• Comprehensive experience managing large scale Layer 2/3 topologies
• Comprehensive experience with (JunOS, MX, QFX, EX) (Cisco IOS/IOS-XR/NX-OS, FEX)
• Experience with Firewalls, Load Balancers, DDOS, IPSec, SIEM, WAF and IDS/IPS
• Experience with Cisco ASA (5515-5585 with SSPx), ASAv (5,10,30,50), Palo Alto(800/3000/5000)
• Experience with F5 server load balancing: LTM and DNS
• Experience in NETCONF, SDN, API integration and open-source network tools
• Strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques and change management execution
• Experience with high availability global environment with 99.999% SLA

• Datacenter Network Infrastructure design and deployment
• Network FedRAMP Process and Procedures
• Optical DCI Networking experience ROADM, FOADM, DWDM, (Ciena 6500/Waveserver platforms)
• Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi experience
• Scripting/Programming language experience associated with NetOps automation

Responsibilities

• Network design and architecture for Service Provider, Cloud/Bare Metal, Security, and IT networks
• Documentation of designs, standards, as-builts and policy/procedures
• Security and Compliance assurance
• Technology refresh and platform development
• Network Migration strategy and planning
• Tier 4 Escalation for Operations and Support Organizations
• Implement complex changes in the multivendor network environment
• Work with customers for complex activations, migrations, and incidents
• Responsible for Product Engineering of new features
• Mentor junior engineering staff
