Peraton is seeking a Network Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will design modern IP-based network architectures, ensure scalability, security, and technical consistency, and provide oversight of subcontractor activities to prevent design and integration issues. Requirements

U.S. Citizenship Required.
Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or Masters degree and 6 years of experience or Associate's degree and 10 years experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience.
Proven experience in network architecture or engineering.
Proven expertise in IP-based network design, including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
Strong understanding of network security principles, scalability planning, and high-availability solutions.
Experience managing subcontractor or vendor performance on complex projects.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools, QoS, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to FAA programs or NAS systems.
Experience with FAA systems, federal modernization programs, or other critical infrastructure environments.
Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIE, or AWS/Azure Networking Specialty.
Knowledge of cloud and hybrid network architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Background in Zero Trust networking principles and SD-WAN technologies.
Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).

Responsibilities

Design modern IP-based network architectures for enterprise and mission-critical environments.
Ensure scalability, security, and technical consistency across all network solutions.
Provide technical oversight of subcontractor activities to prevent integration or design issues.
Develop and maintain network standards, documentation, and reference architectures.
Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and program managers to align network solutions with business and mission needs.
Conduct capacity planning, risk assessments, and performance evaluations to optimize network performance.
Evaluate and recommend networking technologies and tools for future deployments.
Support incident response and troubleshooting efforts for complex network challenges.
Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in network design and security.
