We're looking for a Network Engineer II with some coding experience to grow our Atlanta team. Our execution success is rooted in our unique model supported by industry partners and specialists. As a contractor for ImagineX, you'll follow a hybrid schedule with 2 days in office (near Perimeter Mall) and 3 days remote. In this role, you'll also be required to participate in a rotating on-call schedule with 24x7 coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
  • 3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer and hands‑on experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation and operational tooling
  • Fundamental knowledge of Wi‑Fi and related IEEE standards, protocols, and service provider architectures
  • Working knowledge of APIs (REST, JSON, etc.) and the ability to integrate or consume network‑related APIs
  • Ability to develop scripts or lightweight applications to support troubleshooting, monitoring, and configuration tasks
  • CCNA or equivalent networking certification strongly preferred
  • Fundamental knowledge of packet‑based protocols such as UDP, TCP/IP (including DHCP, DNS, HTTP), MPLS, and routing protocols such as BGP and ISIS
  • Fundamental knowledge of security protocols and authentication (WPA2/3, EAP types, 802.1x, AAA, RADIUS and/or DIAMETER)
  • Fundamental knowledge of DOCSIS and PON access and provisioning technologies

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating large‑scale service provider wireless networks
  • Systems Admin experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of Network Monitoring Systems and Device/Network Management Systems including SNMP, syslog, and streaming telemetry
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible

Responsibilities

  • Lead the change, planning, and implementation process for our client's T3 operations activities related to planned maintenance for core wireless components including routers, switches, wireless LAN controllers, and access points with minimal direction
  • Participate in scheduled on‑call rotation
  • Leverage scripting and automation to streamline operational tasks, improve repeatability, and reduce manual effort
  • Use APIs and automation frameworks to integrate network systems, enhance monitoring, and support operational tooling
  • Methodically scope, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex issues in high‑scale service provider Wi‑Fi environments while minimizing customer impact
  • Capture configurations, logs, and packet captures as needed for escalation to engineering peers, vendors, or partners
  • Partner with Engineering to influence designs and test strategies that improve operational reliability, scalability, simplicity, and standardization
  • Translate proposed hardware/software/configuration changes into actionable implementation and validation procedures
  • Replicate production issues in staging/lab environments to test fixes and perform regression testing
