About The Position

This position supports Lockheed Martin Space and involves upgrades, operations, and maintenance of hardware and software installations, specifically focusing on routers, switches, firewalls, and cryptographic equipment. The role emphasizes the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of Secure Communications LAN, WAN, and voice systems, requiring the candidate to utilize their network and system administration skills in a classified environment. The position operates on a 4x10 schedule, allowing for three days off per week, and all work must be performed onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.

Requirements

• Must have DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizen).
• Must have or be able to obtain a Security+ certification or higher within the first 60 days of employment.
• Knowledge of general networking principles.
• Experience with routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Ability to perform diagnostics and troubleshoot network issues.
• Experience with network monitoring.

Nice To Haves

• Some design and architecture experience of LAN, WAN, and voice systems.
• Some experience with cryptographic equipment (e.g., KG-175 encryptors).
• Some project management/project lead experience.
• Some experience performing Layer 1 cabling work.

Responsibilities

• Support upgrades, operations, and maintenance of hardware and software installations.
• Handle service requests for routers, switches, firewalls, and cryptographic equipment.
• Ensure continuity of operations through backups and verified restore capabilities.
• Design, install, configure, and maintain Secure Communications LAN, WAN, and voice systems.
• Provide primary IT support for a classified environment.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot network issues.
• Monitor network performance and provide notifications of issues on a daily basis.
• Determine root causes of network issues and recommend strategies to prevent recurrences.
