Position Overview: Manages Belgrade Public Schools' technology infrastructure including servers, cloud services, identity management, mobile devices, security cameras, and network systems. Administers approximately 3,600 user accounts across multiple platforms, maintains hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure, implements security protocols, and provides technical support and training.

  • Identity and Access Management Provision, modify, and deprovision approximately 3,600 user accounts across Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, Google Workspace, and Infinite Campus; manage user lifecycle processes, licensing, permissions, and SSO/MFA implementations; audit access rights for FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA compliance
  • Infrastructure and Systems Management Install, configure, maintain, and monitor Windows Server installations, Hyper-V clustering, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services; administer Microsoft Azure and Google Workspace infrastructure; manage Exchange Online; deploy software via Azure Intune and Google Admin Console
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points; implement network monitoring and alerting systems; coordinate with network consultants on advanced projects
  • Administer print servers, Uniflow print management, and coordinate with managed print services vendor
  • Administer JAMF Pro for mobile device management of district iPads, MacBooks, and iPhones; deploy and maintain MDM policies
  • Secure all servers, VPNs, cloud services, and applications from threats; configure and monitor firewalls; examine security logs; perform penetration testing; manage SSL/TLS certificates; respond to security incidents; maintain compliance with FERPA, COPPA, CIPA, and HIPAA
  • Design, implement, and maintain backup solutions; perform verification and testing; develop and execute disaster recovery plans; support E-Rate program management including applications, vendor coordination, and compliance documentation
  • Provide technical assistance and respond to help desk tickets in a timely manner; train IT staff on systems administration and new technologies; provide technical support for school board meetings; create and maintain comprehensive documentation including network diagrams, procedures, and system inventories
  • Substantial experience in network systems, servers, and infrastructure planning, installation, and maintenance
  • Experience managing virtualized environments (Hyper-V or similar) and cloud services (Azure/Google Workspace)
  • Experience managing user accounts and identity management systems
  • Experience with mobile device management platforms (JAMF Pro preferred)
  • Valid Montana driver's license (or obtain within three months)
  • Pass background check
  • May require extended hours including evenings and weekends
  • Regularly walk, sit, stand, and use hands for keyboard/equipment work
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crawling
  • Occasional climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds (with assistance)
  • Fine finger dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities including close/distance vision and depth perception

  • Mid-to-large organization networking experience
  • Current Microsoft, Google Workspace, or JAMF certifications
  • Compliance environment experience (FERPA, COPPA, CIPA, HIPAA)
