About The Position

The GISA GET TNOC personnel provide Tier I customer service support to US ARMY INSCOM customers. Actively monitor network and terminal operations to ensure connectivity and availability. Monitor network data traffic patterns to minimize choke points. Accountable for all aspects of Network requirements and manages the hands-on, day-to-day issues related to Networks. Provide system administrator support for GET TDN2 AD environment. Responsible for the hands-on, day-to-day issues related to user accounts and access to GET TDN2 AD and GET WAN. A Network Administrator has experience in managing, monitoring and configuring the routine operations and maintenance of computer systems in a variety of different networks to include high volume/high availability systems. Must have experience responding and resolving problems quickly. Must have the skills to implement agency policy regarding computer access and implement firewalls.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years' relative Network, Systems administration, and customer support experience.
  • Must maintain an active DoD Top Secret w/SC clearance I, and willingness and eligibility to undergo and pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI POLY).
  • Must have a valid IAT-II and Industry recognized Network fundamentals certificate (i.e. A+, Network+, SSCP of CCNA Security certification with continuing education.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
  • Comprehensive experience administering Active Directory environments.
  • PowerShell Scripting experience
  • Customer Interfacing and support experience

Responsibilities

  • Shift work position to include weekends.
  • Performs administration duties for networking hardware including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, ISDN adapters, firewalls and other related network hardware.
  • Responsible for the hands-on, day-to-day issues related to user accounts and access to GET TDN2 AD and GET WAN.
  • Must have firm grasp and knowledge of fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies, capabilities and cabling and their connectivity to local and wide area networks.
  • Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
  • Installs and configures network hardware and software.
  • Provides network troubleshooting and support.
  • Provides technical support and training to end-users.
  • Administers network security.
  • Sets up new users and deletes old users from the network.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with network infrastructure and/or components.
