SUMMARY The Systems Analyst I is the entry-level class within the Systems Analyst series and is expected to be proficient in the duties identified below. Incumbents in this classification perform less complex assignments and receive increasingly complex duties and responsibilities as experience is gained. The Systems Analyst I will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our airport's IT data system infrastructure. This position involves managing and monitoring our multi-platform data network and server infrastructure, identifying and addressing technical issues, and collaborating with various departments and vendors to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in the position.
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. An additional two (2) years of experience may be substituted for an associate degree.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible information technology experience supporting computer network infrastructure and/or server infrastructure.
  • Available for 24x7x365 on-call support
  • Valid Driver’s License equivalent to a California Class C driver’s license
  • Acceptable driving record at time of appointment and throughout employment
  • Ability to pass all background / reference checks, knowledge examinations, as well as aptitude tests necessary to obtain an OIAA employee badge at ONT
  • Finger dexterity to utilize a keyboard to input information on a computer
  • Ability to lift and carry files and other media weighing up to fifty (50) pounds up to a distance of approximately 20 feet
  • Ability to assist with racking heavy equipment such as servers and network hardware
  • Ability to access areas owned or leased by OIAA

  • Knowledge and proven experience in IT systems analysis, troubleshooting, and support
  • Strong knowledge of VMWare and Windows Server systems
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, server hardware, and server operating systems including PanOS, JunOS and Cisco IOS.
  • Strong knowledge of network routing protocols
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with various network and firewall equipment..
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to prioritize responses to problems given system and user impacts
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and creativity in making decisions
  • Possesses excellent technical and communication skills; communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Possess the ability to interact effectively and courteously with employees, tenants, and the general public in an international aviation environment
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate the values of OIAA
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus

Responsibilities

  • IT Systems Analysis: Evaluate existing IT systems, including server hardware, operating systems, and network infrastructure, to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and assistance to the airport's administrative staff, diagnosing and resolving network and server infrastructure issues promptly.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with departmental stakeholders to gather and document IT system requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
  • System Integration: Work on integrating new technologies and software solutions into the existing IT ecosystem, ensuring compatibility and seamless functionality.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. Ensure equipment is patched and securely configured.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures for reference and training purposes.
  • Vendor Management: Interact with IT vendors and service providers to procure necessary hardware and software, manage service contracts, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to airport staff on the proper use of IT systems, ensuring they can leverage technology effectively.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Attends various meetings in remote administrative offices as well as airport terminals in support of various IT projects and tasks.
