About The Position

The Network Analyst position at Bernalillo County involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities centered around the analysis, development, maintenance, and administration of computer hardware and software systems. The role is designed to meet the business needs of the county, ensuring that technology solutions are effectively implemented and maintained. The Network Analyst will receive training and will be expected to perform professional duties that include monitoring and administering servers, maintaining and configuring network and telecommunications infrastructures, and consulting with departmental customers to identify areas for improvement through technology. This position requires translating business requirements into system deployments and performing professional-level systems maintenance and customer support duties, including programming with object-oriented languages. In this role, the Network Analyst will analyze, plan, determine requirements, design, build, customize, test, implement, maintain, and enhance a variety of hardware and software systems. They will provide professional customer support for system-related software and hardware issues, interacting with clients to analyze system requirements and recommend technology solutions to improve operations. The position also involves preparing technical documentation, procedural plans, reports, and correspondence, as well as participating in committees and attending meetings, conferences, and training sessions. The Network Analyst will administer a departmental Local Area Network (LAN), monitor and add users, install and configure software, and coordinate connectivity with the County Wide Area Network (WAN). They will design, configure, and install network infrastructure, including wireless equipment, hubs, switches, cabling, and peripherals. Additionally, the role requires monitoring network traffic, performance, and security, identifying and resolving security issues, and ensuring that the network infrastructure for disaster recovery is adequate. The Network Analyst will also investigate, analyze, and resolve network problems, troubleshoot failures, and implement solutions, while evaluating and implementing network upgrades to ensure optimal functionality.
