About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Network Administrator Supervisor, the Network Administrator oversees the daily administration of all network/server environments, troubleshooting of the network, hardware, and underlying communication.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Associate's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or related field required. Work experience may substitute education with 2 yrs. of experience substituting every 1 yr. of education.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Excel.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Network Administrator certification is highly preferred
  • Industry certifications and memberships are a plus
  • Knowledge of hardware technology and network concepts,
  • Preference given to candidates with the following: CASP, CEH, CISSP, GSEC, GCIH, Sec+, Net+, A+, Cloud+, CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, CCDA, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, MTA.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain network stability for assigned facility.
  • Monitor and assess network performance to ensure optimal function and minimum downtime.
  • Perform diagnosis of issues and assist with deployment of solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze load including traffic and utilization trends.
  • Ensure networks are protected from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data by developing and monitoring security procedures or collaborating with network administrator supervisor.
  • Administer, enforce, and support network and data security, including directory, group policy, firewalls, antivirus, email security, etc. for network devices such as laptops, printers, cell phones, tablets, TVs, and landline desk phones.
  • Provide training to new employees and other training sessions as required.
  • Provide standard Help Desk support, including but not limited to printer troubleshooting, iPhone support, laptop setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide IT support onsite and remotely to include after hours which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Manage daily operations of the IT department.
  • Responsible for tracking the parts inventory and maintenance of documentation.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Networking protocols, LAN networking, and WAN networking.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Fill multiple roles simultaneously.
