General Purpose The Network Administer oversees the entire network infrastructure and gives strategic planning efforts, capacity planning, functional and technical design of enterprise systems and resolution of complex problems. Installs, maintains, configures, and monitors the operation of the organizations local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN). Administer routers, switches, firewalls, VOIP systems, to include firmware, OS updates, and security updates and patches. Administers servers, hypervisors, SAN’s, VDI environment, and other ancillary systems, to include firmware, OS updates, and security updates and patches. Performs troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs/fixes for network hardware and software related problems. Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation. Helps evaluates vendor products in hardware, software and telecommunications equipment and recommends purchases consistent with the Bank’s short and long-term objectives. Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of this position. Other Duties/Responsibilities: Works closely with other Network Administrators, the entire IT department, multiple outside departments, Alpine employees, and software vendors. Work closely with vendors’ support personnel to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner. Complete training to stay current on recent technology. Performs other duties as assigned.
