About The Position

In this role, the Network Administrator will be responsible for performing system patching and IAVA patches to network routers and switches. You will conduct approved minor network changes (vlan, ACL and port assignment) and perform IOS and software upgrades. Additionally, you will perform switch and router installs and upgrades to ensure smooth operations of the enterprise. Drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for network operations is also part of your responsibilities. You will troubleshoot systems failures and accessibility problems within the network to our services, support site survey and engineering designs data calls, and support new/enhanced network implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects within a site or locale. The role requires you to work independently with some supervision, especially in remote locations where you must function as independent engineering, maintenance, and network problem solving with minimal or intermittent input from other Tiers/locations. Problems faced are difficult and will require detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to understand problems. You will employ creativity and ingenuity for new technical solutions applicable across the enterprise, drawing heavily on prior experience. You will also perform network ticket resolution and support network ticket closure across Network OPS staff, which includes completing initial categorization of Service Requests (type, sub-type, location device, priority, etc.), using administrative access to the network to provision new switches, routers, VLANs, and Crypto, researching errors, incidents, problems, and performing incident analysis to identify potential problems. Additionally, you will route Service Requests to the appropriate organization required for incident resolution, perform root cause analyses, and complete problem resolutions associated with incident ticket(s). You may configure, deploy, manage, and maintain UC monitoring systems used by the technicians to ensure availability and overall performance of system and services. Lastly, you will review and implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
