About The Position

The Network Administrator / Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of local and wide area networks, operating systems, and physical and virtual server environments. This role ensures the integrity, availability, and security of network and system resources while maintaining rigorous configuration management processes to control and document all changes to systems and software.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • At least 5+ years of demonstrated experience in network administration and configuration management within a DoD or federal environment.
  • Proficiency with network hardware, virtualized environments, and system monitoring tools.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining configuration management processes and tools.
  • Strong understanding of information security, system backups, and user access control.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to coordinate across technical teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
  • Familiarity with Army or DoD network environments and configuration standards.
  • Experience with automated configuration management and version control tools.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain LANs, WANs, operating systems, data communication networks, and both physical and virtual servers.
  • Perform continuous system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources.
  • Review system and application logs, ensuring timely completion of scheduled jobs and system backups.
  • Analyze network and server resource consumption, implementing measures to optimize performance and control user access.
  • Install, update, and maintain software, including license management.
  • Support network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management processes, including:
  • Configuration identification, change control, status accounting, and configuration audits.
  • Configuration planning and documentation maintenance for software and system baselines.
  • Regulating change processes to ensure only validated and approved updates are integrated into production systems.
  • Tracking and reporting all product and software changes, ensuring full visibility of current configurations.
  • Support audits to confirm compliance with baseline requirements and accuracy of as-built software.
