About The Position

This position is responsible for providing superior customer service and quality technical support for internal employees as well as external collaborative business partners. The IT Network Engineer will work as a part of a team to support employees located in the Pampa, Texas area, local subsidiaries, and construction jobsites. Project Location: Pampa, TX Project Scope: Our client is the primary general contractor for this brand new, large-scale data center build, currently in the scoping phase. Role Responsibilities: The hired individual will primarily be at the Pampa site, interacting with our clients team and ISPs, connecting hardware, and performing basic network troubleshooting after fiber runs are complete. Hiring & Training: Our client wants to hire the person as soon as possible to allow for 3-4 weeks of training in Minneapolis and early involvement in the project. On-site Presence: The role will initially require weekly on-site presence at Pampa for about six months, with potential for remote work later. Required Skills: The ideal candidate needs strong communication and have the ability to interact with various teams and vendors. Technical skills should include Meraki (a big requirement) and some Ubiquiti, with a general understanding of IT. Project Duration & Conversion: The project is multi-year, guaranteeing at least two years of work. Conversion to a full-time Mortensen employee at the project site is unlikely, but opportunities at headquarters or with the project team could arise. Logistics & PPE: Our client will provide a laptop, webcam, and potentially an iPad. PPE like a helmet, vest, and gloves will be provided, but the individual must supply their own boots (steel-toed recommended). There will be travel to Forney, TX (Dallas area) - Twice per month for 2-3 days at a time. The rest of the week during travel you will still work, but can work from home for the rest of the 40 hours. Travel to corporate (Minneapolis, MN) once every two months to meet with the team and leadership.

  • AA degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent related work experience.
  • CompTIA A+ and Network+ preferred.

  • Video conferencing support (hardware/software).
  • Microsoft Office 365 proficiency.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt under pressure.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow for incident tracking and asset management.
  • Certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or Meraki ECMS (preferred).
