About the position

The Enterprise Communications Services 3 (ECS3) program supports a critical intel customer across multiple operational locations. The primary goal is to transform and enhance current services through advanced technology integrations. This includes the development, implementation, and operation of new or improved services, focusing on areas like Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Unified Communications (UC), Video Telecommunication, and Streaming services. As a Tier 2 Network Administrator, you will be at the forefront of resolving complex network issues while ensuring the smooth operation of the enterprise's network infrastructure. You'll collaborate with various NOC and Operational teams to manage network configurations, technology upgrades, and address service interruptions. This includes providing technical resolution reports for network outages and supporting continual service improvement initiatives through modern technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installations, upgrades, and configuration changes for network routers, switches, and other enterprise network components.
  • Execute network site surveys and assist with engineering design data calls.
  • Implement IAVA patches and regular system patching to maintain network security and efficiency.
  • Perform IOS and software upgrades on network devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network accessibility issues and failures, ensuring minimal downtime for services.
  • Support implementation and technical refreshes for new or enhanced network solutions.
  • Conduct minor network changes including VLAN, ACL configurations, and port assignments.
  • Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for network operations.
  • Develop technical resolution reports for critical outages and ongoing issues.
  • Provide detailed root cause analyses and ensure effective resolution of network incidents.
  • Manage Network service requests, categorize and prioritize based on severity, location, and device types.
  • Use administrative access to network components to resolve incidents, research errors, and identify underlying problems.
  • Work closely with other staff and stakeholders to ensure timely ticket closure and incident resolution.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, especially in remote or isolated locations.
  • Exercise creativity and problem-solving to address technical challenges and propose applicable solutions.
  • Occasional travel to other sites for network engineering tasks, with up to 50% CONUS travel anticipated.
  • Ability to lift and move network components of average weight and size as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's with 3+ years of applicable experience; Master's with 1+ years of applicable experience; 4 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • IAT Level II Certification required.
  • TS/SCI Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Polygraph.
  • Strong experience in network administration, with a focus on switch and router installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure situations and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with network monitoring systems, configuration management, and problem resolution.

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
