About The Position

Mid to Senior field trainee supporting a NETA-accredited electrical testing team. Works under direct supervision of certified technicians while learning electrical safe work practices, basic test equipment setup, documentation methods, and jobsite conduct. This level is typically an employer-defined trainee role used to build experience toward NETA Level 2 eligibility.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED (technical schooling preferred).
• 0–2 years of electrical or industrial field experience; willingness to travel and work outages/shutdowns.
• Ability to learn electrical testing fundamentals and follow standardized procedures and checklists.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background/drug screening per client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily job briefings, JHAs/JSAs, and follow all OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety rules.
• Assist with safe work setup: barricades, signage, tools staging, and housekeeping in electrical rooms and substations.
• Support test equipment setup/removal and basic measurements as directed (e.g., nameplate verification, continuity/ground checks).
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of test equipment and leads; verify calibration status and report damage.
• Collect field data under supervision; complete forms, photographs, and equipment identification records accurately.
• Support lockout/tagout (LOTO) preparation activities and verify de-energized status only as authorized and supervised.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and team; escalate hazards, near-misses, and deviations immediately.
