We are currently looking for an intellectually curious, independent-minded team player with strong quantitative skills for the position of Associate Analyst/Analyst in our Washington, DC office. Role Overview This is an exciting opportunity to join a global firm where you will collaborate with economists and industry experts to apply economic principles and quantitative methods in analyzing all types of energy and transportation markets, addressing economic and financial topics such as asset valuation, regulatory and market analysis. These analyses support international arbitration, domestic and cross-border commercial disputes, and regulatory proceedings across multiple industries worldwide, including energy, transportation, mining, and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in quantitative disciplines such as economics, business, finance, statistics, mathematics, environment/energy sector, or related field.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a strong academic record
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
  • Experience working in teams solving problems and delivering creative and innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts effectively
  • At least 2 years of experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable: asset valuation, economic damages, financial impact of regulations or regulatory changes, financial transactions, evaluation of market conditions, energy, transport, or other regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Apply economic empirical methods to conduct market modeling and assessments, asset valuation, economic damages, and the financial impact of regulatory changes.
  • Conduct energy and transportation market, competition, and regulatory analysis to support regulatory and commercial disputes.
  • Support preparation of expert reports, technical materials, and oral testimony for arbitration, regulatory proceedings, and litigation.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within project teams to manage workflows, deliverables, and client communications.
  • Produce clear, well-documented written reports, slide decks, and visualizations that explain complex analyses to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to proposal and business-development efforts as needed.
