About The Position

The position involves directing and supervising nursing services in accordance with governmental and other regulatory standards. The role includes overseeing nursing care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance, and restoration of patients' health and wellness. The individual will oversee patient needs and suggest solutions to patient care problems. In conjunction with the Medical Director and Practice Manager, the individual will interview clinical staff and have input into new hires. The position also requires orienting, training, and evaluating all clinical staff in the Internalist office, ensuring the development and delivery of nursing education to staff. Additionally, the individual will ensure that an acceptable patient flow is achieved, that staff are professional, and that confidentiality is maintained at all times. The role also involves ensuring that provider needs are met as they relate to the clinical office and tracking and reporting all supplies used weekly in collaboration with the Practice Manager.

Requirements

  • NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required.
  • NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice.
  • Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
  • Eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and a Master's Degree.
  • Eligibility criteria for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA.
  • Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise nursing services in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee nursing care for patient health and wellness.
  • Address patient needs and suggest solutions to care problems.
  • Interview clinical staff in collaboration with Medical Director and Practice Manager.
  • Orient, train, and evaluate clinical staff in the Internalist office.

  • Achieve acceptable patient flow and maintain staff professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Meet provider needs related to the clinical office.
