About The Position

Job Title: Nephrologist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Maryville, TN Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: March 9, 2026 – Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday clinic, approximately 8 hours per day (flexible) On -Call Shift Schedule: 24 -hour call coverage with clinic responsibilities Call Type: In -House and Call Back COVERAGE DATES Ongoing coverage beginning March 9, 2026 Coverage includes 24 -hour call plus daily clinic coverage Monthly coverage schedule to be determined PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: Inpatient and outpatient nephrology; management of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Office Equipment Available: Standard dialysis and clinic equipment Specialty Backup Available: Multidisciplinary hospital support Support Staff Available: Dialysis staff and clinic support Reason for Coverage: Supplemental nephrology coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: No Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60 days Name Clear Process: Yes; clean background required Vaccine Requirements: Flu vaccine required with medical or religious exemptions COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rate: TBD Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance:Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Inpatient and outpatient nephrology care Dialysis management for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Tennessee medical license required Board: Board Certified in Nephrology Certifications: BLS required Experience: Minimum two years of independent practice post -training Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice history and Epic EMR proficiency required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide inpatient and outpatient nephrology services Manage dialysis patients across hospital and clinic settings Participate in 24 -hour call coverage and respond to call backs as required Collaborate with dialysis teams and hospital staff Document all patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active Tennessee medical license required
  • Board Certified in Nephrology
  • BLS required
  • Minimum two years of independent practice post -training
  • Clean malpractice history and Epic EMR proficiency required
