About The Position

The Neonatology Division at Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas City is seeking board certified/eligible Neonatologists to provide clinical care in community Level II-III Neonatal Intensive Care Units and our regional referral Level IV NICU. In addition to clinical excellence, preferred candidates should have an interest in and evidence of scholarly pursuits, including education and quality improvement initiatives. The Neonatology Division consists of 36 neonatologists with a wide spectrum of interests, providing opportunity for candidates to find collaboration and support for an individualized professional career pathway. New faculty will have opportunity to work in a range of clinical settings, including responsibility for delivery attendance for high-risk newborns, managing preterm and transitional issues, as well as attending in the Level IV NICU, with responsibility for infants with birth anomalies and other complex clinical conditions. The Home Ventilator Program and the Center for Infant Pulmonary Disorders provide a candidate with interest in infant chronic lung disease rich opportunity for participation in clinical follow up and research of such infants. Our faculty members are committed to evidence-based medical practice, promoting use of organized change models to make group practice improvements. Division members are actively involved in the Vermont Oxford Collaborative and the Children’s Hospital Neonatal Consortium to assess outcomes and collaborate for improvement. New faculty members are eligible for academic appointment at the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. Time and mentoring support will be provided to assist candidates with career development and promotion success. Children’s Mercy Hospital has a robust Faculty Development Program, with resources and training opportunities in leadership, teaching, mentorship and professional writing. Requirements

  • Board certified/eligible Neonatologist

  • New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005.

Responsibilities
