About The Position

We are committed to excellence in patient care, innovation, and collaboration. MercyOne Waterloo is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neonatologist to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialized care for newborns in a supportive, family-centered environment, including couplet care when appropriate to promote bonding and continuity of care. Practice Highlights Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Level III NICU Bed Count: 8 beds 10 beds Average Daily Census: 4–6 5-6 Call Schedule: Shared call with pediatric team; typically, 1:3 Shared call with neonatologist. They are currently doing 1:2 NICU Team: Experienced neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and case managers dedicated to family-centered care Collaborative team including pediatricians, obstetricians, and nursing staff Opportunity to participate in quality improvement initiatives and education

Requirements

• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neonatologist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for premature and critically ill newborns
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
• Educate families and support staff on neonatal care
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

Benefits

• Guaranteed Salary: $346,920
• Commencement Bonus: $70,000
• Longevity Bonus: $30,000 after Year 3
